NaiAsana: Exploring Spirals, Rhythm, and Universal Flow Patterns in Yoga
Limited Capacity seats available

NaiAsana™ yoga is a unique somatic healing practice weaving in both dance and flow arts, to cultivate harmony through a deeper connection with the cycles, rhythms, and elements of the natural world. From the cell to the cosmos, the circle is the universal symbol of unity, while the spiral is the essence of the feminine - both divine and earthly. Both are undeniably the most prevalent shapes found in nature. Yet, the vast majority of modern yoga styles follow a more linear, often rigid, format. It is also well known that most asana-lineages have been predominantly male-influenced. In this class, we open to the inquiry of how feminine qualities bring strength and balance to the practice, for both women and men.

Both on and off the mat, this vinyasa of spiral, rhythmic and cross-body movement patterns, often incorporating playful props such as poi or the hula hoop, allows effortless, joyful, restoration and repattering of the nervous system. When we use this quality of more circular fluid movement, we discover a way to work with the body's inherent wisdom, rather than against it. In this way, not only does the NaiAsana practice help individuals discover new, often ecstatic, ways of moving, but also provides many therapeutic benefits.

The principles of NaiAsana are rooted in the ancient Vedic Kosha system, elemental wisdom, divine feminine teachings, embodied play, and neuroscience. Come celebrate the fire within as you discover new realms of creative expression and beauty that transforms.

Class Flow:
15 min sensual warm-up with asana, dance and introduction to universal flow patterns
15 min seated guided meditation, mudra, and mantra
30 min guided flow and dance
10 min individual free flow and optional play with poi
10 min community NaiAsana flow
10 min savasana and closing

Poi will be provided.

RAD Self Massage: Ball Rolling for Upliftment
Limited Capacity full

We all know how amazing it feels to backbend however in the crux of our posture often lies the repetition of fetal position! We sit in a chair on the computer, on the bus, in our cars, our bikes …and yes we even sit in chair pose in yoga class. In order to come back to standing with ease it is crucial that we open the heart and release the muscles that, like the ropes which hold a circus tent canopy down, can restrict our rise. This 90 minute class will unravel the ties that bind and help lift both the body and breath to new heights as we enjoy the freedom that comes from a balanced system.

Move, Meditate, Muse—Conversations with the Self
Limited Capacity seats available

We can look at creative practices like writing as ritual, much like our yoga and meditation practices. Writing is a form of self-study: a deep dive to purge what no longer serves us, drawing us into deep contemplative inquiry. The practice of journaling or free-writing is an exercise in presence and discipline, much like maintaining a yoga or meditation practice. Journaling brings clarity, which hones and sharpens the authentic voice.

The session will begin with a short 20-minute sequence of gentle movement to direct and shape the breath, followed by a brief guided meditation to quiet the mind as we start to get out of our own way. Then, we'll channel the muse through a series of free-writing exercises to move past blockages and get the creative juices flowing. Wear clothes you can move in, and bring your journal and a pen—we're diving deep! And don't forget your yoga mat—unless you're inspired to feel the earth beneath your feet.

This Soul Flow Poi™ class weaves the basics of poi with yoga and dance into a soulful movement meditation and playful inquiry of the Self. Harmonizing with our hearts and awakening the sacred, sensual, feminine, in us all, we will let the dance be the teacher of our true nature, honoring the natural cycles and rhythms that are universal to all Life. As a transformative and healing somatic practice, powerfully restoring and re-patterning the nervous system, we will leap gracefully into new, expanded ways of moving, thinking, and being. With each new move, we will ignite sparks of empowered and inspired flow. Come celebrate the fire within as you discover new realms of creative expression and beauty that transforms.

Class Flow:
15 min playful and sensual warm-up with yoga, dance and introduction to poi movements
12 min seated guided meditation, sharing of context (cultural and spiritual), brief chanting
50 min breakdown and practice of choreographed poi-dance sequence
12 min community flow and closing

Poi will be provided.

Mindful Rewilding: Yoga, Meditations and Skills for Awakening in Nature
Limited Capacity full

With the average American now spending 11 hours a day on a screen and 90% of life indoors, our need for mindful and restorative time outdoors is growing. Even most yoga classes are held indoors, even though yoga evolved in the forests, mountains and deserts of Asia!
Mindful rewilding is an invitation to embrace the earth, rewild our yoga practice, and awaken our senses in mindful immersion outside while learning practical skills for feeling more intimate, comfortable and confident with our lands and many relatives in the more than human world.
Join Micah Mortali, Founder of the Kripalu School of Mindful Outdoor Leadership and author of "Rewilding: Meditations, Practices and Skills for Awakening in Nature" on an outdoor journey that weaves together elements of yoga, forest bathing, Ayurveda and primitive skills. Immerse your senses and awareness as we wander mindfully in the embrace of the sacred land here at Stratton Mountain. Gain simple tools to support your own practice of mindful rewilding when you get home.

NaiAsana: Exploring Spirals, Rhythm, and Universal Flow Patterns in Yoga
Limited Capacity filling up

Come learn how to use a slackline to practice a whole spectrum of asanas that will help increase your sense of balance while maintaining a playful nature.
